1. Who is eligible for the Upahara package

This special package is eligible for the following:

  1. Government sector employees (Including Tri Forces, Police & Civil Defense Forces),
  2. Clergy (All religions),
  3. Pensioners of Government service.

 

2. What documents are required to obtain the Upahara package?
  1. National Identity Card or Valid Driving License or Valid Passport And,
  2. Document as proof of the billing address, if it differs from the address mentioned in the National Identity Card. Acceptable documents, in either hard copy or, electronic format, must not exceed 3 months from the current date,
    1. Electricity Bill or,
    2. Water Bill or,
    3. Bank Statement with Address And,
  3. Document to prove your eligibility to enroll for the connection
    1. If you are a Government Sector Employee

To prove active government service, please provide one of the following documents as proof

  1. Service Identity Card or,
  2. Appointment Letter or,
  3. Service letter or,
  4. Salary Slip Issued in a Recent Month Certified by the Head of the Department/Government Institute or,
  5. A Letter from the Head of the Department/Government Institute with the Names and National Identity Card Numbers of Employees who are eligible to get the connection
  6. If you are a member of a Clergy (Any religion)

A document or identity card serving as proof of eligibility as a member of clergy.

  1. If you are a Pensioner of Government Service
    1. Pensions Identity Card or,
    2. A Pension Payment Slip Issued in a Recent Month or,
    3. Letter Received from the Pensions Department to prove eligibility

 

3. How many connections am I allowed to obtain with the Upahara package?

You can have 2 connections from the Upahara 499 option and 2 connections from the Upahara 727 option under your NIC. These can be either package upgrades or new connections.

 

4. I am a existing Upahara Postpaid user. Can I upgrade my current Upahara package to the New Upahara 499 or 727 package?

You can upgrade your package to the New Upahara 499 or 727, in this instance the applicable connection fee will not apply for the upgrade.

 

5. I am not on Upahara package right now, am I eligible to upgrade my current package to the Upahara 499 or 727 package?

Yes, you can upgrade your package to Upahara 499 or 727. In this instance the respective connection fee will apply.

 

6. I am a Prepaid user, am I able to upgrade my current package to the Upahara 499 or 727 package with the Same Number?

Yes, you can upgrade the same number to the Upahara 499 or 727 Postpaid package. In this instance the respective connection fee will apply.

 

7. If I buy Upahara 499 package now, will I be able to change my package to Upahara 727 package later?

Yes. You can upgrade your Upahara 499 package to the Upahara 727 package. In this instance a connection fee of Rs. 250 will be charged for the upgrade

 

8. If I buy Upahara 727 package now, will I be able to change my package to Upahara 499 package later?

Yes. You can downgrade from the Upahara 727 package to the Upahara 499 package.

 

9. What are the methods can I get my Upahara Bill?

The Uphara Device offer is a special offer to State sector pensioners prepared in collaboration between Mobitel and Department of Pensions of Sri Lanka offering them a facility to obtain a smartphone/ Mobile Router/ Dongle on a 12 Month Instalment scheme with a special bundled package, which can be paid through their Monthly pension.

 

2.Who is eligible for the Upahara Pensioner BNPL Scheme?

Any state sector Pensioner is eligible for this BNPL Scheme.

 

3.What are the benefits of the Uphara Pensioner BNPL Scheme?

The key benefits in the scheme are as follows:

  • There are no upfront fees to enter the program.
  • You will be paying for the device in 12 Equal instalments + any billed usage + subscription fee.

No, you do not have to pay any upfront fees, all you need to do is choose your device and sign our 12 Month contract form.

 

7.How many Devices can a customer obtain under this BNPL scheme?

Only 1 (One) Offer is provided under the program, you cannot take multiple offers within the contract period.

 

8.What are the documents that are required to obtain Uphara Pension BNPL Scheme?

The documents you will have to bring along with you to obtain this offer is as follows:

 

  • Pension ID
  • National ID

Yes, existing UPAHARA pension customers are eligible to obtain this offer, by upgrading to this offer by signing the contract.

 

10.I am a Mobitel Prepaid user, Can I get this UPAHARA Pensioner BNPL Scheme?

Yes, if you are a state sector pensioners you can upgrade your existing number to this offer.

 

11.I am an existing Postpaid package holder. Can I get this UPAHARA Pensioner BNPL Scheme?

Yes, if you are a state sector pensioners you can upgrade your existing number to this offer.

 

 

12.I have already purchased a Device under Kalaguna Pensions Scheme, Can I get another Device under this UPAHARA Pensioner BNPL Scheme?

Yes! You can avail this installment offer if your previous offer agreement period has ended. If you're still within the agreement period, you can settle the early exit fee to become eligible for this offer. 14.How do I pay the Monthly Instalment and Bills for the package?

Paying the monthly instalment + Bills for the package is easy, the monthly installment will be deducted from your Monthly pension, once you opt in to the scheme by signing the contract with Mobitel.

Yes, You can do that , all you need to do is visit the nearest Mobitel branch / Mini branch and pay the Early Exit Fees.
