MOBITEL LAUNCHES FIRST EVER NFC-ENABLED LOYALTY PROGRAMME IN SRI LANKA

For the first time in Sri Lanka, the National Mobile Service Provider, Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel launched a NFC (Near Field Communication) based loyalty programme – the Club Magnate loyalty programme. This ground-breaking product is yet another innovative addition to the Telco’s growing portfolio.
 
With NFC technology soon becoming ubiquitous in the global ICT industry – Mobitel takes pride in being the first Mobile Service Provider to launch a unique loyalty programme like this. Club Magnate offers an array of benefits and discounts to its post-paid and prepaid customers through a comprehensive partner merchant network. Mobitel’s Club Magnate members simply have to produce their loyalty card to the respective merchant’s cashier which will be tapped on the NFC enabled payment Point of Sales (POS) machine to redeem the entitled offer.
 
Speaking at the launch, Mrs Jean Fernandez, Senior General Manager – Customer Care, Mobitel commented, “The Club Magnate loyalty programme is synonymous with prestige. It is designed with a host of privileges and benefits centred on ‘red carpet’ service, connectivity rewards and lifestyle privileges which epitomise the ‘Care’ of Mobitel. This programme also reaches out to offer value added benefits in an array of discount offers across all merchant partners across the country.”

The first rewards discounts via the Club Magnate loyalty programme was availed by a Mobitel customer at the Sarasavi Bookshop in Nugegoda.
 
Speaking at the event, Mr. H.D. Premasiri, Managing Director, Sarasavi Booshop stated, “We are extremely proud to partner with Mobitel on this new endeavor – especially since we are able to offer our customers new value additions and reward benefits.”
