Mobitel introduces ‘Roam without a Deposit’ Added convenience, less hassle while travelling overseas

Wednesday, 12 February 2014, Colombo: The National Mobile Service Provider, Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel, introduced an exciting new service designed especially for its post-paid customers travelling abroad. This service, which doesn’t require overseas travellers to make a cash deposit in order to utilize the roaming facility, enables them to stay in touch with their home and office with absolute ease.

Commenting on the launch of this new service, Kapila Chandrasena, Mobitel’s Acting CEO said, “‘Roam without a deposit’ offers our customers a host of benefits. It addresses the most important factors that every overseas traveller frets about: deposit, usage and charges. The fact that a deposit does not need to be made in order to enable roaming while travelling overseas is an added bonus, and the option to have real-time notifications on usage, customised usage limit and economical rates certainly makes keeping in touch with your home and office that much easier.”

Once a post-paid customer activates ‘Roam without a deposit’, customers will be notified with real-time alerts of their usage. The convenience this service offers a customer is unmatchable, and will bring into play the same roaming charges as well. By activating Mobitel’s Budget Roaming feature, customers can enjoy the lowest roaming rates while travelling overseas. This will ensure that roaming customers will be aware of their usage and the cost at all times

In order to activate this feature, a Mobitel post-paid customer can dial #999#  Activation  Deposit Free Roaming. The customer’s current local credit limit will apply, and the option to increase the credit limit is also available. To find out more details regarding this service, please contact Mobitel’s Roaming hotline on 0714555555.
