The National Mobile Services provider, Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel has once again been endorsed by the nation in recognition of the excellence in services and evolutionary strides made in the recent past as Sri Lanka’s leader in the mobile telephony industry. Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel bagged the ‘Youth Brand of the Year’ award at the recently concluded SLIM Nielsen People’s Choice Awards 2012 held at Waters Edge rang out as the choice of the people across the country.
The Awards reflect consumer loyalty, commitment and preference of a brand, competing amongst many other corporate giants. As the National Mobile services provider, Mobitel acts as a pioneer in the telecommunication arena through many industry firsts and groundbreaking technology endeavors. Youth from the ages of 18- 25, from 23 districts determined Mobitel as the brand worthy of the ‘Youth Brand’ accolade.
Every year the SLIM-Nielsen People’s Awards is held to elevate the brands and personalities that have left a lasting impact on the people of the nation. Awards play a significant role in giving voice to the people’s choices and selections in brand and personalities.
This year’s awards ceremony boasts of a significant specialty in ‘people’s representation’ as it includes the North and East of the country in the research for the very first time. The SLIM- Nielsen People’s Awards saw its inception in 2006 and has been since held annually, encouraging best practices amongst corporates in the local industry, and supports key research and marketing functions in Sri Lanka.
Mobitel once again bares testament to its excellence in striving to serve customers with an ‘element of care’. The Youth Brand award of the year was another accolade amongst many that entail the national mobile services provider’s journey in dedicatedly serving the nation.
