mCash provides service to donate to Sri Dalada Maligawa via Mobile

The National Mobile Service Provider, SLT Mobitel for the first time in the history of the Sri Dalada Maligawa introduced a new and unique service to enable well-wishers to make their valuable donations to the sacred temple in a new and convenient manner using ones mobile phone via mCash, Mobitel’s mobile money arm. This service is also available for Etisalat customers through the mCash platform.

mCash provides a one-of-a-kind service option called Donations via mCash, through which Mobitel & Etisalat customers could utilise their mCash Account to make a donation towards a public fund run by a charity organisation or a religious place of one’s choice. The service has been initiated towards the historic Sri Dalada Maligawa where well-wishers could generously contribute to the temple, which is one of the most sacred religious sites in the world, from anywhere in the country.

Customers could utilise the service to make a donation by dialing #111# through a mCash registered mobile phone, and choosing the ‘Pay Institute’ and ‘Donations’ options respectively which would give immediate access to make a contribution by simply entering the amount the customer intends to donate. Once the donation is confirmed, the customer will receive a notification via SMS. Meanwhile, Mobitel has also opened doors for even non mCash or non Mobitel users as well to be a part of this worthy cause. Any person could donate by visiting a Mobitel Branch, SLT Teleshop, Singer Mega or any of the mCash Retailers located island wide. A donor simply has to provide the amount they are willing to donate in cash and provide their respective mobile number to make the donation without any hassle.

Mobitel has experienced a rapid growth with a growing customer base and has made a strong presence in Sri Lanka. mCash which was launched in November 2013, is licensed under the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and allows Mobitel customers to maintain a Mobile Money Account and experience a whole new convenient method of carrying out financial transactions through its suit of innovative services.
