SLT Mobitel Introduces Special Post-Paid Plans for State Sector Employees, Media Personnel, Samurdhi Recipients and Senior Citizens of our Nation

Being in the forefront of technology and innovation, the National Mobile Service Provider SLT Mobitel has yet again outdone itself with the introduction of special Post-Paid Plans for State Sector Employees, Media Personnel, Samurdhi Recipients and Senior Citizens of our nation. The Post-Paid plans are unlike any of the plans previously launched as these include either a smartphone or a mobile phone with no down payment towards the device at the point of purchase but rather an easy payment plan on the Mobitel Post-paid bill. The programme is in line with the vision of the Minister of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure Hon. Harin Fernando and his Ministry of providing ICT facilities to every citizen of our nation. SLT Mobitel is the first operator to provide this scheme to such a large customer base of our nation.

State Sector Employees and Media Personnel have the opportunity of the obtaining the package with a smartphone.  Currently the State Sector of our nation employees a large number of individuals to whom this package will benefit by way of giving them access to the internet and also many other features of the smartphone that will increase the day to day productivity and efficiency of the individual. Similarly, Media Personnel will also be able to use the smart phone to record news and also be up to date with happenings locally as well as internationally while on the go. The package includes a special bundle entitlement consisting of talk time, SMS and data to surf the internet as well. Samurdhi Receipts and Senior Citizens of our nation will benefit  with the mobile phone plan as well as the special talk time and SMS bundle provided will be able to meet their daily telecommunication needs to be in touch with their loved ones.

SLT Mobitel broke all barriers to Telecommunication with the Introduction of “Mobitel Upahara” in the year 2008 which was a Post-Paid package exclusively for State Sector Employees. Thereafter, Mobitel introduced “Upahara Broadband” in 2012 and now continues to keep to its promise of ‘We Care, Always’ with the introduction the smartphone package exclusively for the State Sector Employees. This is now taken one step further with a range of packages which has been extended for Media Personnel, Samurdhi Recipients as well as Senior Citizens of our nation.

Using this scheme, eligible customers can obtain the device on the special payment plan with no down payment required for the device, but only a refundable deposit for the Post-Paid Package on a contract period of 24 months. The mobile phones offered on the scheme come with the manufacturer warranty which is passed on to the customer. Eligible customers simply need to visit a Mobitel outlet with the required documents in order to avail the package. Any further details can be obtained by dialing the Mobitel Hotline on 1717.

Given below are a few pictures of the launch event held at Cinnamon Lakeside recently where the SLT Mobitel Chairman Mr. P. G. Kumarasinghe Sirisena, Minister of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure Hon. Harin Fernando and SLT Mobitel Chief Operating Officer Nalin Perera presenting the new packages with mobile phones to representatives of State Sector Employees, Senior Citizens, Samurdhi Recipients and Media Personnel.
