What is this offer?
This is a promotion offered by mCash for customers during the December Season from the 25th November to 31st December 2017 offered at Selected mCash partner merchants where the customer will have the opportunity to get discounts on purchases by paying via their mCash.
Who is eligible for this offer?
All mCash customers of Mobitel & Etisalat will be eligible for this offer when paying with mCash.
Is this a Cash Back Offer?
This is not a cash back offer, the customer will obtain a discount when purchasing goods via mCash from the selected mCash partner merchant outlet.
How will the discount be received?
The customer will be charged only for the discounted amount thus the discount is received real-time on the spot.
What should be done before going to the Merchant Outlet to claim the offer?

What are the mCash Top Up locations?
The customer should top up his mCash account by visiting below or using Commercial, HNB, Sampath, Cargills, Pan Asia Online & Mobile Banking:
Can the customer top up mCash at the merchant locations?
The customers cannot top up mCash at merchant locations. Customer should visit a mCash Retailer to top up mCash..

Below are the Merchant offering special discounts for mCash Customers.
How to pay for purchases via mCash?
You need to have mCash in your mCash Account prior to performing the Merchant transactions and then follow the below steps.

Direct Payment – (Customer Initiated)

Walk in to mCash Merchant outlet and follow the below steps.

A confirmation message will be received via SMS. Note: This transaction could be performed through the mCash Mobile App as well.

  • Step 01: Dial #111# and select ‘Pay Merchant’ (Option 7) or Dial #111#7#
  • Step 02: Select ‘Pay to Merchant Mobile’
  • Step 03: Enter your mCash PIN
  • Step 04: Enter Merchant Mobile Number
  • Step 05: Enter your total bill value
  • Step 06: Confirm the transaction

App Process

  • Step 01: Select `Transactions`
  • Step 02: Enter the User Name (My mCash/Mobitel Selfcare)
  • Step 03: Enter the Password (My mCash/Mobitel Selfcare)
  • Step 04: Select `Merchant Payments`
  • Step 05: Select `Pay to Merchant Mobile`
  • Step 06: Enter your mCash PIN
  • Step 07: Enter Merchants Mobile Number
  • Step 08: Enter the Discounted Amount

Over the Counter Payment– (Merchant Initiated). Walk in to any mCash Merchant outlet and follow the below steps.

  • Step 01: Merchant initiates the transaction by informing the bill amount
  • Step 02: Provide your mobile number
  • Step 03: Once the Merchant confirms the transaction you will receive a pop-up message on your phone along with the transaction details requesting your PIN to authorize the transaction
  • Step 04: Enter your PIN on your mobile to authorize the transaction
  • Step 05: You will then receive a confirmation SMS along with the transaction details
  • Step 06: Merchant will hand over goods / services to you.

Online Payments (IPG) – (Customer Initiated)

Login to the merchant web-site and follow the below steps.

  • Step 01: log into to the merchant website
  • Step 02: Select the product you wish to purchase
  • Step 03: checkout
  • Step 04: Select mCash as the payment option
  • Step 05: Enter the mobile number
  • Step 06: Enter the PIN
  • Step 07: Receive the OTP SMS
  • Step 08: Enter the OTP in the payment gateway screen
How will the customer know if the transaction is successful?
After the transaction is successful the customer will receive a SMS confirmation.
What should be done if the merchant is refusing mCash?
Please call the mCash hotline 7111 and speak to an agent.
What should be done if the merchant is offering a wrong discount?
Immediately call the mCash hotline 7111 and explain the issue.
What should be done if the pop up message is not received or was missed during an over the counter payment?
  • Option 1 - Ensure that the merchant has entered the correct customer number.
  • Option 2 – Make sure to switch off the 4G network on you mobile (applicable only for smart phones).
  • If none of the above resolves the issue Call the mCash hotline on 7111 and speak to an agent.

    Transaction is failing, why is that?
    • Customer should be Registered for mCash
    • Customer should have sufficient balance (Dial #111# & Select My Account (Option 9) or Dial #111#9# & select ‘Check Account Balance’ function under the Customer wallet).
    • Customer should have mCash in his/her wallet and NOT a pre-paid reload.
    • Customer should enter his/her correct PIN. If Customer forgot his/her PIN, Customer can visit the nearest Mobitel Branch or Customer can send a written request (Scanned Letter with the signature) via e-mail info@mobitel.lk - or Fax - 0112330396.
    • Maximum Transaction Limit per day for a Basic Account Holder Is Rs. 10,000 and for an Enhanced Account its Rs. 25,000 has been exceeded.
    • Temporarily Technical Failure.
    What should be done if the transaction is continuing to fail despite the above reasons?
    Firstly, re-initiate the payment or advice the merchant to re-initiate the payment. If the payment continues to fail call the mCash hotline 7111 and explain your difficulty.
