Mobitel clinches the ‘Brand of the Year’ title – the Highest Recognition in Brand Excellence at the SLIM Brand Excellence Awards 2011

Mobitel, National Mobile Service Provider, clinched the most coveted award ‘the Brand of the Year’ at the SLIM Brand Excellence Awards held on 18th October at Waters Edge, re-iterating the brand’s commitment towards maintaining exemplary business practices whilst portraying the position Mobitel holds as a leading brand in the country.
 
The highly anticipated evening for the Sri Lankan marketers organized by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) progressed with Mobitel sweeping the boards, clinching the Gold Awards for the ‘Service Brand of the Year’ and the ‘Innovative Brand of the Year’, a Bronze Award for Mobitel mTunes as ‘Turnaround Brand of the Year’ and drew to a close with the exciting climax of receiving the ‘Brand of the Year’ award - the Highest Recognition in Brand Excellence at SLIM Brand Excellence Awards 2011.
 
Mobitel first entered the SLIM Brand Excellence Awards in 2009, clinching 2 Gold Awards for ‘Innovative Brand of the Year’ (for M3) and ‘Best New Entrant of the Year’ (for UPAHARA) and 2 Silver Awards for ‘Service Brand of the Year’ and ‘Turnaround Brand of the Year’ (for SMART). At the 2010 Awards ceremony, Mobitel further improved on its previous performance by clinching the Gold award for the ‘Service Brand of the Year’ - the highest recognition in the Service category. As such, the winning of the ‘Brand of the Year’ title this year, which is the overall highest recognition given to the best performing brand of both product and service categories, is testimony to the accelerated growth momentum Mobitel as a brand has been able to achieve and maintain over the years.
